Anisotropic filtering @ 2003-12-15 22:03:03

After a rather long time of _stagnation_ on the site I have finally published something really interesting for everyone. As the subject of this news post indicates it's about anisotropic texture filtering, an OpenGL extension that thereotically allows much higher texture quality. I wanted to check whether this is really true and so I coded a little demo which shows both a filtered and unfiltered object. If you're interested, take a look at it. Source code is of course included.

Besides this new project, I also updated the famous (?) sbmptexture helper class that now allows to create anisotropic filtered texture with only one little line of code. It can't get easier!

So that's it for today. The next update is going to come really soon now because I am working on a little snippet on this filtering topic. It's nearly done so stay tuned. Happy c0ding then!
